The Collective Has Asked to Speak to the Manager | Cosmic Soul Letter - Nov 2026

Hello there,

I need to talk about something that has been irritating me for a while.

You share a personal experience, and somebody tells you it is the collective. You describe an uncomfortable conversation, and suddenly it's a solar flare, Mercury retrograde or some wider energetic phenomenon.

Mercury retrograde is having a busy year. The collective is apparently working overtime. And somewhere in the background, your actual human experience is patiently waiting for its turn to speak.

I'm writing this while PMSing, so my tolerance for nonsense is somewhere between 'absolutely not' and 'please don't test me today'. Consider this your friendly cosmic warning. 😂

During a particular interaction, almost everything I shared was being attributed to the collective. Apparently, I was having the same experiences as a whole lot of other people on the exact same journey. Quite the group excursion, it seems, and nobody had thought to send me the itinerary!

Except our circumstances, reasons, choices and responses were all different. I eventually realised something rather simple: I wanted my experience to be heard as mine before it was added to the collective's group chat.

Perhaps you've experienced this, too. You share something personal, hoping to be heard, and instead receive an explanation of what you're supposedly experiencing because everyone else is going through the same thing. Thank you for the cosmic briefing, but can we perhaps finish discussing my actual life first?

I work with the Akashic Records and explore Earth, Galactic and Omniversal perspectives. I absolutely recognise that individual experiences can connect with wider patterns of consciousness.

My concern is not with the collective. It is with using the collective to bypass the individual.

Sometimes we use spiritual language to explore our experiences more deeply. Sometimes we use it to avoid acknowledging what is happening. Instead of saying, 'That hurt me,' we talk about an energetic shift. Instead of exploring a difficult relationship, we decide everyone is navigating the same lesson. Apparently, nobody is allowed to have an ordinary Tuesday anymore!

The language can sound expansive while the actual exploration becomes remarkably small.

Anger may be telling you that a boundary needs attention. Sadness may be connected to a loss that matters deeply to you. Fear may be asking you to look more closely at a decision. And yes, you may also be responding to something happening collectively. Several things can be true at once.

Even when we experience similar circumstances, we bring our own histories, relationships and interpretations into them. Shared experiences do not make our individual stories interchangeable.

This matters in spiritual spaces, too, particularly when exploring starseed experiences, galactic consciousness and intuitive practices. We don't all have to interpret things in the same way or compete over who has the most accurate understanding of the collective. There are no cosmic trophies for that, as far as I'm aware.

I experienced a rather interesting example of this a few years ago, when someone decided to test my ability to interpret a Light Language script. I hadn't asked to be tested, wasn't attending a class and certainly hadn't enrolled in a Collective's Interpretation exam. When my interpretation didn't match the answer this person had already decided was correct, I was made to feel as though I'd failed.

What in the actual universe is going on here?

Since when did someone's personal interpretation become the official answer key to everybody else's spiritual experiences? There was a rather uncomfortable air of spiritual superiority in the interaction, as though having their own understanding of the collective somehow qualified them to assess mine. I hadn't entered a competition, yet someone had apparently appointed themselves the judge, jury and examiner. I must have missed the memo about the entry requirements!

What bothered me most was how easily an unsolicited judgement could take away someone's joy and leave them questioning their own abilities. Spiritual knowledge should expand curiosity, not become a little pedestal from which people are made to feel inadequate.

Sometimes you just want to share what you're experiencing without having it immediately explained through the collective. You want someone to hear what happened to you, understand your circumstances and allow your experience to have its own meaning. You don't need to be told that you're going through what everyone else is going through, or have your feelings and perspective neatly filed under a collective theme. Can we let an individual experience be an individual experience for a moment?

The collective can provide context. It cannot automatically tell you what your personal experience means.

When was the last time you allowed yourself, or someone else, to have an experience without immediately giving it a cosmic explanation, a collective label or an unsolicited interpretation?

There is room for the collective. There is room for expansive spiritual perspectives. And there really ought to be room for the actual person living the experience. You know, the one whose life we're supposedly discussing!

And if Mercury retrograde is involved, by all means, let's hear about it. Just give me the actual human experience first. The planets can wait their turn!
